Our Favorite Courses

Battery Lewis “Easy” Loop

This run may be short but it isn’t exactly easy. The Battery Loop takes you around Battery Lewis (a Highlands Must See) and is pretty hilly. This is also a great loop to walk and you should plan to veer off course to check out Black Fish Cove.

Sandy Hook 5 Mile Run

Sandy Hook has a wonderful running / biking path that runs the entire 6 mile barrier spit. Just cross the Highlands bridge, take a left and you are on the path! Keep your eye out for Osprey, Least Terns, Piping Plovers, and other amazing local birds.

Rumson 10 Mile Run

Looking to clock in some distance during your stay? The Rumson 10 Mile Run will take you from Highlands, through Sea Bright, and into Rumson passing beautiful beaches, bridges, and homes.

Over the Hill and Back

Nestled behind Hartshorne Woods is a small neighborhood with winding roads and beautiful homes alongside the Navesink River. This is one of our absolute favorite runs.

Battery to Twin Lights

You can knock off two historic landmarks before breakfast. Warning: this is another very hilly and very challenging run so maybe have a little snack before you go.

Hartshorne to Hook

Looking to end a run that ends on a bridge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean? Want to feel motivated as you run over the Highlands Bridge staring at NYC, the Shrewsbury River, and the beach? Hartshorne to Hook is for you!.
